Trotman Publishing had worked with the information team at Ecctis Limited for several years for the provision of information for many of their best selling publications. In 2004 Trotman identified a need to bring the information collection, management and provision in house and to move towards electronic publishing. The skills, knowledge and capabilities of the information team were identified as being key to this. In July 2005 Trotman Publishing acquired the information team; this has led to the creation of TIS.

The information team in Cheltenham have specialised in the collection, management and dissemination of high quality educational information for more than 14 years, and have developed advanced data systems to facilitate this process; these systems are supported by a team of information and IT professionals. Trotman Publishing has been a leader in careers publishing for more than 30 years, publishing many well respected titles and continuously expanding their portfolio of print and electronic resources.

This move marks a period of development and opportunity which will have far reaching benefits for both the teams in Richmond and Cheltenham and their clients.
